INGESCO PDCE As an electronic ionization device, it meets the requirements contained in the following regulations:

PDC.E lightning rods with PLUG ignition device are the most efficient and safest for satisfactory lightning protection. PDC.E lightning rods have been designed to shorten the atmospheric discharge time, thus ensuring greater lightning capture capacity. Before the approach of the downward leader, originating from the storm cloud, an increase in the electric field is generated.

This is accumulated by the PLUG device, which through high-voltage impulses causes the discharge of the energy accumulated in the device in the form of an upward leader. The PLUG device manages to ionize the air particles located in the protection zone of the lightning rod, thus becoming the preferred impact point for the discharge.

Protection radii calculated according to: standards UNE 21.186:2011, NFC 17.102:2011 and NP4426:2013. (These protection radii have been calculated based on a height difference of 20 m between the lightning rod tip and the considered horizontal plane).

Installation

The installation of INGESCO® PDC lightning rods must comply with the regulations and standards UNE 21.186:2011, NFC
17-102:2011 NP 4426:2013
, and the following recommendations should be taken into account:

  • The tip of the lightning rod must be placed at least two meters above the highest point of the building it protects.
  • For mast installation, the lightning rod will require a suitable adapter.
  • The enclosure wiring must be protected against surges, and metallic masses present in the safety zone must be connected to the down conductors.
  • The lightning rod must be connected to the grounding system using one or more conductive cables running down, whenever possible, through the outside of the building with the shortest and most direct path.
  • The grounding connection or connections, whose resistance must not exceed 10 ohms, must guarantee the fastest possible dissipation of the lightning discharge.

    In addition to all the specifications described for this type of component in the High Voltage Regulation by the
